Here are 5 easy swaps you can make to lose the pounds!
Drink green tea instead of coffee drinks - If you can handle coffee black, go for it… but if you’re like most people, “coffee” actually means adders like cream and sugar or lattes full of milk. The calories add up!!
Have egg whites instead of just whole eggs - While the yolk of eggs is EXTREMELY good for you, you really don’t need that many of them to reap the benefits. My best advice is to have one yolk for every 3 whites!
Get moving during commercial breaks - Instead of nibbling on chips and crackers while you watch tv, try doing some sets of crunches, push ups, jumping jacks, jump squats, whatever you want! Make it a game by trying to do as many sets/reps as you can before the show comes back on! It will add a little bit to your daily calorie output!
Eat real fruit instead of juice - Fruit juice contains too many calories and not enough fiber for someone trying to change their body composition. You save around 80 calories from switching from a glass of OJ to a small orange, and it will keep you fuller longer!
Sub protein shakes for smoothies & milkshakes - Protein shakes are lower in calories and sugar than most smoothies and milkshakes. They are also higher in protein (protein is necessary for maintaining lean muscle and has a higher thermogenic effect than carbs & fats).
